Fall is quickly arriving.

It is quite evident that our membership is preparing to get through what is typically the higher stress “peak days” of the calendar with both Race night(Oct 7), and the Annual Dinner (Dec 3) in stride to be sell out events once again. There is not a better way to take that stress level down somewhat with a nice relaxing event among other industry peers.

I have to take a look back at some summer events that I couldn’t cover in my last blog because of deadlines; Spring Golf, and the Ladies Lunch and Learn “Living It!”.

SPRING GOLF; We were very fortunate again this year to order some fantastic weather, and thanks to all in attendance for making the day a great success. Lionhead was in great tournament shape, and as always played the host role quite well. The introduction of “the wall” was a great crowd pleaser and skill tester! Many thanks to James Mitton and his golf committee for a job well done.

Ladies Lunch and Learn; I can’t say how excited I am that basically the same group of committee members under the direction of Kathy Cartan have taken this event from 80 attendees, to over 300 in three short years. The success of this event demonstrates the industry demographic swing is real, and that we are embracing it as a very proud organization. Many thanks to Jacqueline Coyle, and Sandra E. Martin for sharing in their success stories, and life lessons. Kathy many thanks to you and the team for a fantastic job organizing this event. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!

A quick reminder as well for the“snap a selfie” contest we have been running all year. You can simply enter by taking a transportation related selfie, and tweet it to @tortransclub with the hashtag #TTCSelfie. We are seeing some very creative entries, please keep them coming.

I look forward to a very successful finish to my year as President, and thank you for all your support in sponsorship, attendance, and participation. The membership of this club really make it a pleasure to be involved in this industry.
