A Message from the President

It is an immense honour to serve as your President of the Toronto Transportation Club for 2026. As the largest industry club in North America, the TTC carries both a proud legacy and an important responsibility. This distinction is only possible through the strength and commitment of our transportation community, and it is a responsibility our executive team and board continue to uphold together.

As we reflect on 2025, we do so with great pride. Under the exceptional leadership of Stacey Large, the Club achieved another milestone year before handing the reins over just before our Annual Dinner. The success of our record-breaking 110th Annual Dinner, which welcomed nearly 1,400 attendees, was a clear highlight of the start of my presidency and a powerful reminder of the engagement and energy within our industry. We also celebrated another excellent year for our Scholarship Program, made possible through the tremendous support of our members. Congratulations once again to the recipients of our 2025 scholarships – your achievements thus far have inspired us, and we look forward to your continued successes. As we look further into 2026, we will be expanding the number of scholarships beyond the five existing opportunities.

Our momentum is further reflected in the continued growth of the Club itself, with membership now reaching over 1,600 as we begin the new year. This growth reinforces the relevance of the TTC and the value it provides as a forum for connection, collaboration, and professional development.

Our leadership team is also evolving, and we’re thrilled to welcome Greg Cross (C.H. Robinson) as your 2nd Vice-President and Jeff Pries (Bison Transport) as your 1st Vice-President. Their perspectives, experience, and enthusiasm for the transportation industry will be invaluable as we execute on our priorities for the year ahead.

To our outgoing President, Stacey Large – thank you for your exceptional leadership, friendship, and guidance this past year. Your dedication has played a critical role in the Club’s success over the years, and I am personally grateful for your support as I expand into this role.

As President for 2026, I am proud to contribute to the Club’s ongoing legacy. Having joined the board in 2017, I have seen firsthand the power of the relationships built through the TTC and the role they play in supporting both personal and professional growth.

Looking ahead, we have an exciting calendar of events for 2026. We will once again begin the year with our Winter Getaway at the Craigleith Ski Club in late January, followed by our Spring Pop-Up in March. Toronto Transportation Night returns in April, with our Ladies’ Lunch taking place in June, both hosted at the Palais Royale. I’m also looking forward to our Spring Golf Tournament in May, our Power of Education Golf Classic in September, and in October, we are especially pleased to bring back our Race Night at the newly renovated Woodbine Racetrack – marking the first time this event has been held since 2019.

The Toronto Transportation Club is truly Where Industry Meets, and I encourage all members to make the most of this network in 2026. Long-standing members play an important role in welcoming and engaging new participants, and to our newer members, I encourage you to attend events, introduce yourself, and get involved. The relationships built through the TTC almost always extend far beyond the Club and can have a lasting impact throughout your career.

I would like to extend a sincere thank you to our Executive Director, Denise Cardy, for her continued leadership and support, in addition to our dedicated board of directors and volunteers who make each event and initiative possible. Most importantly, thank you to our members for your ongoing support, participation, and commitment to the club.

The TTC is more than an industry association – it is a community. While we are over 1,600 members strong, the Club continues to feel close-knit and collaborative, and it is an honour to serve as President for the year ahead. I look forward to working alongside you in 2026 as we continue to strengthen and evolve the Toronto Transportation Club.
