March 31, 2021The Toronto Transportation Club membership is a must have for anyone interested in gaining access to the major players in the supply chain industry in Canada and beyond. Way back in 1996 during my early start up years in business I joined the club and immediately signed up to attend the annual event at the Royal York Hotel. While I knew a fair number of trucking industry members in the Toronto area, getting involved with the TTC and attending events absolutely helped fuel my business. The connection to hundreds of members, some of whom have significantly helped mentor and make important introductions, continues to provide major benefits. While I did spend two years on the Board in the early years when the meetings were held at the Toronto Legion on Lakeshore, the club has exploded in growth and reach and the events and programs all initiated by forward thinking visionaries in the club tells the real story of how business mixed with pleasure makes for a really good time. The last annual club event at the Toronto Convention Centre in 2019 was one of the best ever, I brought a key client along with my US Sales counterpart who both hail from the Detroit area and were blown away by the impressive scale of the event and the overwhelming good cheer of our members; which is precisely the tone of every TTC event I have ever attended. Looking forward to the upcoming virtual event and hopefully in person events to follow and hats off to the Board and especially Denise Cardy for continuing to keep club members entertained and informed.
